Death of a Friend

There were no tears of sorrow when she passed
No suffering or pain, a quiet death
Though many questioned just how long she'd last
Few noticed when she took her final breath

So many photographs and memories
With family and friends while she was here
She shared her time and warmth so willingly
Forever will we hold her days so dear

Though she has passed we will continue on
There will be many gloomy days ahead
Some days her memory will flash at dawn
And some nights when we crawl into our bed

For now let's raise our glass at summer's wake
Cause soon it will be autumn's leaves we'll rake

Death Announcement

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT:BY TSHEPO MBHELE

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR DEATH ANNOUNCED?
A POOL PARTY WITH A BALL THAT WAS BOUNCED
OR TO GO TO THE BAR
ON YOUR BRAND NEW CAR

WHEN YOU FINALLY DECIDE TO DIE
I WONT EVEN PASS BY
IT DOESN’T REALLY BOTHER ME
BECAUSE WHEN YOU WERE ALIVE I LET YOU BE

YOUR NEW HOME
WILL DEFINETLY NOT BE ROME
OR EVEN A SMALL PALACE
JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE CARELESS

SOME WILL DANCE AND SOME WILL CRY
SOME WILL COME JUST TO SAY GOOD BYE
EVEN IF IT IS A DARE
 I DON’T CARE

About the Deceased Say Either Good Or Nothing

About the deceased say either good or nothing,
Therefore at the funeral of the deceased chief,
The subordinates danced in full silence,
With happy faces, but slowly with grief!

The adventures of Pinocchio

                             - His Italian growing nose

Frankly

i have crafted and shafted and then re positioned
divulged and indulged to precise disposition
yet frankly my points are most blunt at the end and my walls tend to fall at the slightest of bends
be it not such a bridge but a try at amends, with a friend who is quite hard of hearing
come step in my cauldron both women and children, these are the crimes i admit to both willinging and wildered
For i am the poet of pilgrims ,
what was left has been pillaged and raped, and only i who had managed escape
have been left to rebuild from the timbers

Artichoke

The shock of the news left him numb.
He asked, "How did my friend succumb?"
The coroner joked,
"Your friend Artie choked,
He's the victim of his chewing gum."

Pie

I am a friend of pie
Why?
Because I would never eat it.
It will live its natural life cycle
Until it's dry
Then goes all rancid
And can die.

And that's why I
Am a friend of pie.

Ole Boy Head

13 years have passed
But I miss you still
Nobody will ever break the bond
Between a dog and a child

Brown shaggy hair with black spots
He wasn't a purebred with a pedigree
But the fact that people called him a mut
Sure as hell didn't matter to me

He bit me in the head
Every time I remember it I find it funny
He bit me in the same place he was named
But that never stopped me from loving him
To this very day

Sometimes I wonder
What would've happened if that car
Hadn't hit you that day

I wonder
How many years
Would we still have to play

The three years I knew you
Were the grandest ones ever
And in my heart I know we will always be
Together

His Name Is My Name Too

Here under this midget monolith
Lies John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith
He went out, there was a great shout
And that's the last he was heard about

Im Just High

Heavy hearted holes open doors, then close em shut
While everyones waiting on a helping hand or a bastards crutch
Silly I feel useless watching clouds in broken shapes
Damn it if we land it completely captivated by birthday cake
I'll sail away
under baby blue skies and mankind's caution tape
Here maybe now or after all is well
The head is fearing
Insists that freedoms
 breathin is a white lie

On and on til the rooster sighs
Does anybody try
Or am I just high

Weeping Messenger

Face crack
Hands keep stave
And image turn horror
 Now separated from earth
Weeping around
Far away you are carried
By the ungrateful
And deceitful death
No breath, no voice nor feeling
In the lake of tears I watch the scene
Hope your soul be in the right hand
And your memory book keeps my name
Though you left me in this ungrateful and painful world,
          But
          Please
         Tell
         The
          Lord
          About
         The
         Struggles
         On
         Earth.
It is no longer the earth he created
And tell Jesus we await his return
Because earth is turning into hell.

I call my weeping messenger.

The Alternative

The Alternative

In just twenty minutes,
The kids are all grown,
From cradle to college,
With kids of their own.
Still -
It beats the alternative.

Gray hair and wrinkles,
And routine inspections,
More aches and pains,
And pills and injections.
Still -
It beats the alternative.

You're given the news,
To your great dismay,
Another old friend,
Has just passed away.
Still -
It beats the alternative.

May ne'er come the day,
When the pain is so terrible,
That day-to-day life,
Is completely unbearable.
Then -
I'll take the alternative.

Little Fellow

A prayer for our household friend
Please bow our heads

Dear Little Fellow,

We’re very sorry
you are dead
suffocated in the trap

Hope
your last supper
was enjoyable: homemade roasted pine nuts
May you find peace
in mouse heaven
Reunite with your love ones
