Grand Humility

I'm so proud of my poem
It's literally perfect
I read it over and over again
To savor every aspect

Oh, the cleverness the wit!
I truly amaze me!!!
Even this poem excels
In its delivery

Rain in the rain forest
My talent pours down
Soaking everyone
And everything that's around

I won't show it to my professor
He'll ruin it
My humility is grand enough
And my pride won't benefit

So if you're looking for brilliance
You've come to the right place
I will take your breath away
With expert skill and grace

Just enjoy my delight
As a transparent confessor
And make sure you don't show
This to my professor

Humility

You have two great grandchildren
And a really great, great son
You’re probably wondering who that is
But I would be the one!

My humility is legendary
They’ll sing of it in song
They’ll write great poetry of me
I know that I’m not wrong

But wait a moment I better stop
You already think this true
This goes to show how smart you are
I got my brains from you.

Futility and Humility

Futility and Humility

I have often found that failure and futility
Should never have a home with humility
When what you really need is the ability
To separate surfacing sin from senility.

Maybe so many of us might wear a mask
Then try to avoid each and every task
And outside in sun surely to bask in it
While of much wine empty another casket.

Reached church and in it had a horrible high
Put nothing in and let collection plate pass by
I never committed a sin or ever liked to lie
Now, to be Crazy Christian, every day do try.
