Morning

MORNING

Good morning World.

Damn you!
and your warm
sunray fingers
prying open my eyes.

Robbing me of my
nocturnal fantasies,
my semiconscious bliss.

Leaving the remnants
of my peace
and tranquillity
laying scattered across
my face and through
my hair.

Your rising light
shrinking the shadows
of my freedom.

I will not be seduced
by your clear blue promises.

For your pressing realities
already taste foul
in my mouth.

Leave me Morning
to my diminishing serenity.

Monday Morning Madness

Monday Morning Madness

Just because the morning starts
like the morning straight from hell,
and the little one is screaming
and you need a magic spell,
just because you burned the pancakes
and the bacon, well it’s crisp,
do not rant and rave and stutter
or you’ll acquire a nasty lisp!
If your husband’s little habits
drive you batty, do not fret,
but don’t fill his cup with poison;
well, perhaps at least not yet!
If the dog destroyed your curtains
and your mother-in-law is back,
and you hurt your precious pinky
when you tried to nail a tack,
do not turn suicidal
and do not give up, no way!
After all it’s just the morning!
You still have the whole damn day!

Shameful Morning

not sure how she got here
only know she needs to leave

underneath the stranger
my arm numb; asleep,
mouth a desert.
a hundred dead cigarettes dance my tongue dry

princess of night
exposed by light.
get me out of this;
another dreaded morning mess.

bed broken
along with my will.
I swore never again;
the lie is half the thrill.

Mm, In the Morning

There's a blond poetess out there At her picture I delightedly stare Admiring her curves and shapes Oh man I do wish to drape In the morning we awaken all bare http://www.thehighlanderspoems.com/humour-2.php

Saturday Morning

I woke up in a Saturday Morning
sleeping in too late.
It is a little boring
this is the mood I really hate.

I missed all of my favorite cartoons
its now 11 o'clock.
Maybe I should play with my harpoon
but I know I'll just be told to stop.

While I'm writing this poem
my brother comes up to me and says hey.
Then I go to my friends home
and that is what makes my Saturday.

Spring's Other Side

Spring is the time to venture out and play
the pretty flowers are wearing the bees
maybe it is bright and sunny all day
early morning may come with a cool breeze.

Did you remember to put on bug spray
or you will be lunch and eaten alive
make sure that you do not become their prey
watch out for the low large hanging beehive.

Springtime can bring sun and much needed rain
we sneeze and blow our nose as flowers grow
today their beautiful colors will reign
as the soft wind will magically blow.

I cannot wait for this warm special time
and hear the ringing sound from the wind chime.

Early Morning Warning

There once was this lady I was desiring
Upon meeting she became so damn tiring
She kept me up all night
And fatigued I took fright
I hope that it was blanks I was firing

The Story of the Pot and the Kettle

Fresh upon the morning grove,
With day becoming hot,
And sitting there upon the stove,
A kettle and a pot.

The kettle blew and lifted high,
And poured into the cup,
With that to see it’s bottom by,
And so the pot spoke up.

“Pardon me to even know,
For I don’t mean to meddle,
But you are all black down below,”
The pot said to the kettle.

For a moment to rebuff,
The kettle answered back,
“I’ve seen your bottom oft enough
And yours is just as black.”

Looking down and much contrite,
The pot did then exclaim,
“It seems that Kettle, you are right,
I guess we’re both the same.”

What To Do Instead of Making Coffee First Thing In the Morning

Write a poem…

1.
I'm not without passion,
I keep it controlled.
To temper the action,
that's my role.
Not to say I am passive,

don't care to relate.
If I need to elevate,
the key I keep
is to where flame
burns deep.

2.
Summer is ending.
Where did it go,
maybe the cicadas know,
singing their lives out
with a corporate shout.

Where did it go,
to make room for snow?
We have none here.
Less reason to fear
the end is near.

Duvet Day

It's warm beneath this duvet.
Outside it's cold and grey.
I wish I could roll over
And stay in bed today.
There's things I should be doing,
But if you'd let me choose
I'd stay beneath this duvet
And keep on pressing snooze

Now get back in bed

Good Morning

Good Morning

Good morning ladies and gentleman; this is KVY in Cinncinatti
Has anyone out there seen a bloody red Spaghettini?
Does anyone out there even know what it is?
Well, guess what, I don't know what it is also!
Must have been seeing double, double
Cause I had drank three double, double of rummies!!

Morning Crush

Awaken to the early morning sun
dew gently clings to the grass
The freshness of crisp morning air
Feels breath-taking and pure

The birds awaken before sunrise
 a variety of melodies float
upon the mornings cool air
Harmony exists in song

I yawn....

Get up , get ready to start the day
No signs of laziness do I display
Up and at it is a motto I keep
But man I need another hour of sleep

I yawn.....

The birds sang this lullaby
My eyes closed I gave a sigh
Next it was high noon
Guess I will get up for this afternoon.

Brother Death

Even in the last days you need clean clothes;
therefore you may be found in the laundry
mornings, small task against the larger one
of not breathing. With simple joy
men may forget to fear their deaths.
Six inches of snow reminds us of its dominance
in a pleasant way. Coming and going of sleep,
circling of the moon around the earth, earth
around the sun. The great man dies
and this makes death more noble for us all.
It is with joy that I accept the pains
that herald my end. I do my job well.
I go to the well and break the ice for water.
The bucket comes up full of dying wonder.

What Really Gets Me Up Each Morning

What gets me up each morning from my bed
is first, my cats, wanting to be fed.
One cat would even hit my head!
To work I must be, or else
I’d lie there cozily
indefinitely.
Ultimately,
I get up
just to
pee!

Breakfast With My Yellow Lab Lucy

Wisping kitchen sunlight
                          through dust and wood smoke.
                          Golden hairs from her body
from a shake as she woke.
                          Rising up gently
                          slowly down as they float.
                          And brushing my oatmeal
                          with a fresh yellow coat.

My Sunday Morning Prayer

The words have been the poem,
and a good poem should fulfill you
It can offer consolation and comfort
 in your time of need

Lifts up your pens, you upcoming poets write to,
your heart contents let your words,
be a conversation topic, be the closing of
 the graduation speech, because
rhythmic language thrives, so allow the poems
to speak for themselves.
