Dear Fridge, you’re getting up in years. Oh, my!
How many now? You must be twenty-five!
The dishwasher already I’ve seen die.
How ever have YOU managed to survive?
Sir Oven also is a hanger-on,
But rarely do I spend my time with HIM!
I use his stove sometimes to cook upon.
Too bad you kitchen things can’t keep me slim!
You never rest! I open up your door.
The produce you’ve been keeping fresh I see;
The cheeses, breads, and butter, even more:
Cold casseroles and pizza tempting me!
I do not clean you often. That is mean!
I ought to prize more my appliance queen.
fun, humor, humorous, tribute,
O, black and potent beverage
each morning that I rise
you give me greater leverage
you make me strong and wise
O, elixir of higher thought
rejuvenate my mind
I percolate you in my pot
through dark beans that I grind
With sugar some would sweeten you
and lighten you with cream
but black and strong will be my brew
like women in my dreams
O, steaming dark deliciousness
please keep me wide awake
and bring me higher consciousness
upon my coffee break

I received an email today :
"Would you like to join
The Underpants Club"
A new underwear
directly at your door
once a month
(for only 20 bucks)
Did you say once a month?
My mother taught me
Replace after one use - without exception
In the old days
they had not heard of bacteria ...
but changed underpants
at least every other Saturday
When spring came
it was time for laundry
that took place outdoors,
at the creek or the water post
where there was plenty of clean water available
Fleas and lice are nasty
... and itches terribly

Poem Of The Day: 01.03.2020
friendship, humorous, me, poetry, thanks, tribute,
I post my poems on poetry soup
About farting and guys with brewer’s droop
I’ve been given a crown
And I won’t let Flo down
Be assured I’ll keep on posting my poop!
Posted in conjunction with my blog about my amazing gifts from F J Thomas

body, clothes, humorous, tribute,
Olivia Newton John
A stunning sex bomb
Starred in the film Grease
Talk of ‘ those pants’ never cease!
I wonder how she managed to dance
In skin-tight shiny black satin pants
At the sight of her tush
All the blokes turned to mush
And wanted to begin a romance!
For filming she’s sewn into her clothes
How she went to the toilet who knows!
Her pants sold at an auction in June
I bet the purchaser’s over the moon!

funny, humor, poetess, tribute,
I can't believe I'm writing this mess,
but, here it goes, the gifted poetess,
Jan Allison doesn't want to brag, but,
she has a degree,
from the distinguished Poot-Toot University,
in fact, a PhD in Fartology,
an expert she is,
she writes of farts so funnily,
she's the Limerick Queen of Flatuence,
it's a PoetrySoup decree,
and, yes, there's something quite wrong with me!
food, fun, humorous, poets, tribute, words, writing,
A Lyrical Chef we'll call 'Dre',
whips up Writes for her Poem buffet.
She bakes Words into Rhyme
and roasts Prose in the time
it takes most just to cook a Cliché!
This limerick was written for
my Soup buddy Andrea Dietrich.
Thank you for your positive
input and excellent support -
you are appreciated!. xoxo
An eloquent lady named Kim
works her Words at the Poetry gym
Limericks put on mass
while Haiku takes spin class
and her Couplets are healthy and trim!
This limerick was written for my
Soup buddy Kim Patrice Nunez.
Thanks for your positive input
and excellent support. Hugz!
humorous, tribute, humor,
Jack the Quatrain King a possible moniker
When it comes to quatrains, he’s an astonisher
With humor and wit he deliver’s his world view
Unfortunately now, he’s part of a silly clerihew
Linda or A Poet Destroyer
I didn’t know poetry had Warriors
I read some poems and she loved to fight
I would just read and think, that aint right
Seren Roberts, a welsh girl, yes she proudly is
Call her English and you prolly won’t here gee whiz
A poet and an artist I know this much is true
But did she write a poem talking about fox poo?
This is all in good humor towards three of my favorite poets here. Hopefully no one gets offended and if they do I’ll be happy to remove this.

humor, poets, tribute,
oh what a wonderful group we make
as we pen our poems and take a break
our traits range from weird to strange
in all probability certifiably deranged
leaving legacies of genius in our wake
A good friend to us all is our Kim,
Who wears bikinis when off for a swim,
Of course we all dig her,
With her gorgeous figure...
But it’s Jim that Kim is keeping trim.

Extraordinary, I am
Craving for unusual thoughts
Endless exploration without boundary
Understanding the gift I shouldn't fought
Invisible drawings in my mind
Playing with the words in my head
The food of my soul
I feel so lucky
The random thoughts
A lifetime companion
A self esteem builder
A goal planner
Be my forever life saver
I write more
I talk less
I want to please
I chose to bore
What tickles me the most
Is to know what I'm for
Thinking is my love
When my mind goes empty
That's when I hate
My day dreaming lust
Organizing things in my mind
Playing roles of simulation
Where images of art is my vision
And words of attitude is my heart
appreciation, encouraging, humorous, inspirational, poetess, poetry, tribute,
on small island
lives the lovely poet
inspired to her poetry
by good deeds and humor
and grace of expression
appreciation, friend, funny, tribute,
She's funny, pretty, and smart
Personality off the chart
Supportive, knowledgeable, and kind
Her comments are a treasure to find
She hehe's like a fool
I think she's perfectly cool
You've probably guessed from the clues

To honor Jan in her own style...
I have a sweet friend whom I shall call Jan
She writes limericks like no one else can
finding humor in poop
sharing it with the soup
but it's stinky, Jan, please turn on a fan!!

When I am sad I go to a certain chick;
A poet and friend by the name of Jan,
Of her limerick writes I am a big fan,
Happiness and smiles with just one click.
I dedicate this poem to Jan Allison,
a real funny poet and friend.

fun, humorous, tribute, , cute,
Cute black bear has a perfect behind
and her manicured paws are so kind
When she sits on a chair
all the male bears just stare -
her sheer beauty, it just blows their mind!
A friend has given me a little black bear as a replacement for the soft toy we used to have in my husband’s car – I hope she lasts as long as our old ‘guard dog’!
for him, fun, funny, humor, humorous, tribute, work,
P Pipes corroded
L Lies, folds, and bends
U Under a sink
M Mans the phones
B Butt crack showing
E Extracts gook and hair
R Rodents and snakes
Jan's humourous submissions
About human emissions
Are tastefully turned into verses.
If we suffered those things
That digestion brings
We'd need lost of visits from nurses.
Now Jan's let us know
That we all have to go
And she don't mean to heaven or hell
But places at home
Where we sit on our throne
And hope that we don't leave a smell.
If you took Jan apart
You will find a big heart
She humours us with every caper
I can't put down more,
As it's been quite a chore
To write this on clean toilet paper.
Andrea! Gosh darn it! May shame stir your stew!
All five are favorites (yes, even Ms. Loo),
To pick one or the other would make me feel blue,
And long’s been my summer where sorrows accrue.
So PFFFT! to this poem and PFFFT! to you!
Submitted (with all due respect) for: CB Contest #1
for him, humorous, tribute, words, work,
Steve works in a call center
to earn an honest bob
but some days he can't believe
the words that flow from some folks gob
They cus and curse
Then eff and blind -
you'd not believe your ears
and if he wasn't made of sterner stuff
he'd leave the room in tears!
I said to him when folks are rude
to remember the golden rule
Just imagine them sitting in the nude
that way you'll keep your cool!
So when they rant and scream and shout
He thinks of his meager pay
but still tries his best to sort them out
and ends the call with 'have a nice day'!

funny, poetess, tribute,
There is a quick poet named Jan
Who hails from the Isle of Man
Her limericks border
on Soup`s law and order
Here`s hoping that Jan is not banned.

YOU KNOW NUFFIN
Having a preacher as a brother, he's Ok, as far as a brother goes
But; I am forever Bible-bashing him, just to keep him on his toes
Indiana Shaw . . .
“I've no worries, slanging my big brother off, it’s his job to forgive me” . . . ; )
"But; I've no idea why he keeps holding that cross out, on passing me" . . . : /

Green bark a prism creates,
Feel the pull of earth, you must.
Rotates, a slime of endless hates,
Can hold me not, this world’s crust.
Friendship’s ties, isolation Deflates,
Succumbs, my spaceship, to bitter rust.
Mist, my soul forever permeates,
Lift-off, booms the rocket’s thrust.
My spirit when light returns, elates,
Swamps swell, swallowed hope’s swirling dust.
Trapped, I am, until student from fate
Arrives to learn; Cloud City or bust.
