My Dream Car
My dream car is known to be one of muscle,
which can quickly get up and hustle.
The year would have to be nineteen hundred and Sixty nine,
best year of Camaro to come off the production line.
Orange in color with white racing stripes that line the hood,
along with new aluminum rims would be good.
Its engine would be a three twenty seven,
bearing a Holley Carb would be heaven.
To take it out on the road for a test,
assuredly it would be the best.
I would wash and wax it night and day,
in the garage is where it would stay.
Oh how that would be the car for me,
unfortunately one I’ll never see.

The American Dream
The beauty of the dream
Even fools are allowed in
Misinformed and crawling on narrow stony roads
Yet in this land anything goes
We all have the right to our opinions and views
Apparently even old fools
One day soon
Guns will be taken
So that freedoms truly rule
As the clowns dance
One day
Poets shall rule
Remember this! Obama was no fool!

Jan's Halloween Dream
Jan's spouse said she's gilding the lilies
For treating herself to new frillies
All the neighbours got hot
When they saw what she bought
And that really gave Jan the willies!

The Toilet Dream Speaks the Truth
I had a dream
Where all my clothes
Were in my toilet bowl
Clogging it.
Apparently this means that
I am drenched in emotions
Which need to be released
And expressed,
So I wrote
This poem.

A Lovely Little Daydream
A summer smile stuck on my face,
as I watched a soda truck racing
across the yellow maize farm.
"What is a soda truck doing
in the countryside, far away from
shops and clubs?" my workmate asked.
He looked as though he had witnessed
the Roswell event personally.
"Something isn't right," he added.
I smiled and gazed at the truck,
as it became bigger and bigger.
Monotonous tastelessness of rain water,
would soon be replaced by a fizzy, sweet
sensation to my tastebuds.
This would be the dozenth time I tasted
soda without actually drinking it.

My Lost Shadow
Yesterday, in bright sunlight
I turned and looked
No shadow, what a fright
Am I a ghost? So I pinched
Awakening from my dream
At the break of dawn
Getting ready to scream
Instead gave a mighty yawn
I am like Peter Pan in Kensington
Perhaps I left my shadow in bed
Be brave and carry on
Is what I said
Shadow lost and found
To life, I am bound
Yesterday's shadow was on the ground
Sewn on without a sound

If Drinking Was
I sip and think
I slip and sink
If drinking was building, I would have owned a pyramid
I sip and pee
I sleep at three
If drinking was studying, I would have owned a Phd

My Ruthless Dreams Collaboration
Up early and off to school I must go
Full of pep and not too slow,
That was then when I was young
This is now a new age I have begun,
How I hate them as I climb out of bed
Early mornings are for the dead,
Unreasonable I must seem
Unyieldingly demanding where is my coffee cream,
But I did love them bed and pillow
Seems so long ago I dreamed of an armadillo,
Now they‘re ruthless dreams
I just can’t do them with ice cream,
I’m now past my prime teens.

Bill's Cucumbers
There once was a Nun who knew Bill
For his cucumbers gave her a thrill
Off to sleep she went, dreamt
Her thoughts heavenly sent
All sweating she woke up with a shrill
Now embarrassed she's off to confess
That a cucumbers left her distressed
To the Father she cries
Would they be Bill's he replied
I've dreamt, now let us totally repent
< came to me after reading Jan Allison's 'Limerick' about Bill's Cucumbers >

Panagiota's Dream
With trepidation she picked up her pen.
Should I try this now.......or when?
Her Muse whispered in her ear!
"It's now or never, poetess, dear!"
Ah, that word "poetess" made her
divinely lightheaded.
And thus, my friends, she and her
pen are most happily wedded!

Where Is the Magic - Alexis Karpouzos
Where is the magic?
We all start out knowing magic.
We are born with hurricanes
and whirlwinds, oceans
and galaxies inside us.
We are able to sing to birds
and read the clouds
and see the destiny
in grains of sand.
But we have forgotten the magic
and we feel without compass,
alone and desperately,
only selfishness, only pain,
fear and darkness.
But, magic of love has never
disappeared from the life,
the love hold the life.

Banana Split
Split my banana and stuff it with cream
top with tantalizing treats to extreme
nuts and silky sweetened balls
gooey toppings form seawalls
nothing left out of a lover's wet dream

To Tame a Shrew
TO TAME A SHREW
Tunke Tunke Tunke
I dragged her along and into the trunk
Clunk clunk clunk,
I hear some screaming from the Tunke
I drove away, in my brand new Lex
Avoiding both grammar and spelling checks
Safely away, I saved the day
Off I am to the road by the bay
Tunke Tunke Tunke
Her crass verse I too stuffed in the trunk
Drunk drunk drunk
How else does one explain a skunk in the trunk?
So by the bay, I opened me trunk
Someone is gonna be going for a dunk
I unloaded the cargo chapter and verse
At the bottom of the lake let’s see her converse

Thanks, Judy
Bluebirds can't fly over the rainbow,
And I'll tell you something more;
The only avian species that can
Is the Andean Condor.
A chased rainbow is never caught.
Somehow, a rainbow's never "here".
The closer you get to the pot o'gold,
The rainbow moves or even disappears.
If I could fly over the rainbow,
My heart would sing;
But I can't fly over the rainbow,
'Cause I've got no damn wings.
Yes, we're all seeking rainbows.
In that, there's nothing wrong;
But every day I can say,
"I'm glad Judy Garland sang the song."

Multiplication
Trying to fall asleep in Spring,
I found the trick of counting sheep,
Grazing in flocks and wandering,
Could not succeed in bringing sleep,
Following one another too,
Bleating meanwhile, and eyeing me,
They sauntered by, as all sheep do:
I watched them, counting patiently.
In Spring’s lush pastures so sublime,
It seemed that every flock would grow,
Filling the fields at lambing time,
In numbers more than I could know,
No rest would come, no pillowed bliss:
I saw there was no end to this.

Last Night I Burned My Mom's Tamales
Last night I burned my mom's Tamales !
I can't tell you how much I regret it !
It was about 12:30 p.m when I sat there waiting for them to cook
But waiting wasn't any luck
I was attracted by this beast
It captured me like it knew me ...
I was attacked and out of sight for 2 hours
Last night I burned my moms tamales!
Yes it was 2:00a.m
When my mom screamed, Dulce !
I was awakened by a scream with a smell
I was too dreamy and sleepy I could barley tell
So I decided to make a poem about how
Last night I burned my moms Tamales..

Dreams and Things
Staring up at the ceiling floor
As the big hand on the clock
Races past one
Hearing the mouse rouse out of his
Long sleep
To gather tidbits and play
While the pussycat full belly and all
Lounges blissfully counting mice
Feeling a drop of sweat on my brow
As the fan turns upside down
Not day dreaming at night silly
Just dreaming today
A sunny Beautiful day
In...December

Until I screamed; then went to redeem!

I had a good dream
I wanted to remember
Could not remember
Good dream so I thought
Took an internet dream course
Now remembering
My memory came

Scared me to death

Waiting
Waiting.... That's All I Ever Did.
Get There!!
I know I will soon,
But where is there? And how much time is left?
I Get There
And wonder where WHEN went.
There is Here....
Gone is Now....
And NEVER Leaves.
Waiting.... That's All I Ever Did.
Got There!
Can't remember How I went, but
Then was There
And Time was sent
Up from Down... When there....I Went.
Waiting.... That's All I Ever Did.
