Why People Lie

Some people lie for no reason at all
While many lie with a great reasoning
Most lie to safeguard and be saved from fall
Others let themselves be blamed for speaking.

Few lie for a good acceptable cause
And many just construct a cause to lie
Its not always the flip side of truth's pause
Sometimes a lie stands on its own clean tie.

For lying is a complex social act
More than a habit but a human trait
To be a well functional artefact
Protecting expectations truth can't wait.

Lies cover up another truth to suit
Or made to create a new set of truth.

My Evil Demon

There's an evil demon lurking On the edges of my soul I try my best to push him off He's stubborn, very bold He tries to sway my thinking And how I look at things I tell him, “Take a hike! Get lost, you ding-a-ling!” He never seems to listen He insists on causing trouble It's his role he always says I'm about to burst his bubble Demons don't tell me what to do Don't need these guys to coach My standards are extremely high My actions beyond reproach There's an evil demon lurking On the edges of my soul But this here dude's not worried I'm the guy that's in control! © Jack Ellison 2012

Some Thoughts

God believes in term limits –
no surprise, Congress does not;

The soul responds immediately
to truth – while policy requires
endless debating...

Good needs no rehearsing –
unlike evil, always heavily
scripted and eternally
contracted....

The Mouse

We have a mouse in the house.
Not an average mouse
But rather a mouse with some nous
That trips traps as it goes traipsing through the house.
A mouse whose downfall I am planning
Even while I am jotting.

A foolproof trap I will find,
Before I go out of my mind.

It will be one of a kind,
That will attest to my state of mind.
And show beyond doubt that I have more nous
Than a mouse.

It will send a message to all mouse kind
That it is time to leave this city behind
In case I lose my nous
And sacrifice the house to get rid of a mouse.

Fearful Things

I walked on by a graveyard, very late, alone one night.
No ghosts sprung from their moldy graves: no evil ghoulish sights.

It seemed no vampires lurked about, to sip my blood like wine.
And any hulking werewolves must have previously dined.

I watched in vain for zombies, with their gruesome, bloody stares.
But they seemed to be as plentiful, as wayward teddy bears.

Yet, I would duck behind a tree, on guard quite through and through,
At every car that passed me by . . transporting who knows who?

While I recalled what mother said, no doubt with some misgiving:
It’s not the dead you have to fear . . but watch out for the living!

Typically Luke Poem 14 - Captain Evil Eye

Captain Evil Eye is here More a super villain than a hero Just one look from his evil eye Your temperature drops to zero Yes it is Luke’s little party trick This thing he does with his eye When he stares at you with that look You don’t know whether to laugh or cry Go and do your homework And Captain Evil Eye is there Go and tidy up your room You’ll see the steely glare Come on now it’s time for bed The evil eye stares you down Captain Evil Eye looks a little Like some psychotic clown But even super villains get tired And we eventually get our way As Captain Evil Eye is put to bed His evil work done for the day

The Evil Shopping Cart

In car seats sitting in a parking lot, grocery store
We witnessed a most ghastly gore
An out of control shopping cart
On a path toward my car door

I yelled, “WHAT DO I DO?!”
When in a panic
One often has no clue

I panicked and raced
To get keys into place
But they landed
Jingling to the floor
You said, “HURRY!!!!”
I tried my best to scurry

Relieved when the key and ignition
Made love
I threw it in reverse
For the cart wasn’t to be coerced

When we escaped
Feeling like heroes, caped
We put the groceries on the counter
And made love for an hour

A Mermaid's Tale

Trump's newly-appointed EPA Chief
Found himself buried in EPA grief

To prove he was no party-pooper
He likened Trump to a Giant Grouper

Swimming against an almighty current
Where even the sharks were no deterrent

"Forget the 'U' and immigrant no-hoper!
I'll rename that fish, "The Slippery Groper"!

Well, Congress agreed to just let it pass
That's God's honest truth, you bet your wrasse!

Heart Vs Thoughts

Heart and thoughts like a bull cart,
To walk together straight,

Behave like an enemy my thoughts,

Reminding the one did depart,
Pinning my heart!

Social Maestro

I'll instigate an incident
Exaggerate significance
Initiate a conflict
Purely form of interest
Consider me an *******
Although I'm considerate
Enough to let you speak
Until you prove that you're an idiot

Evil Genius

I
just
called
my own
voicemail
a number of
times until the
memory filled up.
Now no-one can call.
I got me a quiet weekend.

A Dark Path

when raindrops hit the grey floor,
we mythified the truth for a purpose that really go,
but the beginning is a contradictory lie to the end.

in the contest the girl looked me straight in the eyes,
everytime i go there she doesn't even blink!
speak no evil paper clipped her mouth,
so she doesn't even smile

i made time to giggle at her shadow
but the shadow stood still...
'till inner voices vociferated in me!
"when embattled with evil you fought it by another evil"
i responded"good wouldn't match"
so tell me how can i not speak evil

The Long Blog

Your blogs are like beating a dead horse
It's the same old thing over and over again but, you never show remorse,

You write or type each sentence so carefully
To me it shows some one whom is very forcefully,

Reassuring yourself that others like me are the blame
Are you becoming an actress because you seem to be seeking fame,

I guess you feel better after downing another person in your long blog
But, it seems to me you have your head in a fog,

Half of what you is not true or it is spam
You see it doesn't matter to me so frankly my Creeper I don't give a damn.

Covert Jealousy

Haters are fans in disguise
And what takes up alot of there time
Is talkin about people
That are not there equal
& For that to be so
They'd have to learn how to climb
What really upsets me
Is not what they say
It's just the fact that
most of It is based  on envy
Your own progression
Leads them to question
There personal value
And all that does is depress them
I have a suggestion
Maybe stop all the hating
Do a 180
And start congradulating

A Very Edgy Poem

(WARNING: very edgy)
(and also a little bit NSFW)

This TV show is a really good show
It's such a good show that it had me commence the rituals again
The rituals of torment, the rituals of sin
The rituals of no sleep, the rituals of self-death
I am disgusted in myself
But more so I am disgusted in the rest of you
How can you live with yourselves after what you've done?
Probably the same way I live with myself
I hate you all
I want her to slit my throat then suck me off
as I bleed to death

Once again I descend into depravity
And thus Death.
