Unfortunate Singer

my friend quigley likes to sing

really almost any thing

till once a high note

caused a bird to float

back down to earth less one wing.

The Sound of Silence

Sometimes my world falls silent
I’m longing to hear your voice
So replace dead batteries
In my hearing aids!

At last I can hear clearly
Yearning for those little words
You whisper to me each day ...
What time’s lunch ready!

I Love the Sound of Your Voice

I love the sound of your voice
My heart sings when you speak
Turns into symphonies and orchestras
Of sweet melodious bliss
That when my ear tastes
My inner joy swells and abounds
Like a river in spate
Unfettered, deep, and resounding
Fresh as the medleys of life
That feed from infinite vastness
I love the sound of your voice
It is soft as doves, captivating and beautiful
Granted to hear now and ever after
Through morning, noon and night
Summer, winter and spring
Then I would gather each sentiment
Like lilies and toss
Each scent that is hope and peace
Upon the bed of my soul
Where the voice that I love to hear
Would come to me with angel kisses
And be my lullaby.

Zen Buddhist Bird

A Buddhist bird flies
Under the eyes
Of winter’s sun
As I watch his flight
Across a lonely wintry sky
Gazing up
At his long, long flight south

He diverts himself
From the chilly northern wind
A wind
That the sun cannot warm

He diverts himself
With a single thought
As only a Zen Buddhist bird might do
And asks

What is the sound
Of one wing flapping?

"the sound of one hand clapping"...(by J. D. Salinger) Thank you Leo

An Aquarian Exposition

Take the pill
on the hill
and don't be shrill
when you see the rainbow
when you are low.
Just go with the flow
and eat the purple snow.
Chase the rabbits
through the green field
but use my shield
to end all of your habits.

Sound Advice

When decorating, please ensure that
you wear some old clothes and a hat
the colour choice matters
in case the paint splatters
so pick something that matches your cat.

Noise and Ooze

my commode has been making noise
that my wife tried to fix it
only to make it worse
and now it started leaking too

by the time i saw it
the washroom was flooded
and i’m no plumber to fix it
neither am i an idiot to avoid it

so, i did with manly mettle, mettle with it
and tightened, at the end, the right nut
for both the noise, and the ooze to prevent

we did leave home thereafter
i, carrying a washroom in ooze
while my wife, walking in perfect poise

Changing the Soundtrack

(the bells of St.John the Baptist, Devizes, go Pete Tong)

Sunday, summer, church bells chiming
Ringing patterns, sounding light
Ancient forms of echo, rhyming
Complex rhythms, bounded, tight
Resounding voices throng the breeze
As tower captains keep in time
Wise bells with personalities
In sacred music, old, sublime

Last month the bells went out of sync
And changed the soundtrack of the town
No one heard but me, I think, but
‘Twas the Stranglers, “Golden Brown”

(dum, dum, di dumdumdum...)

Grand Theft Audio

lets shout it out
lets move it to the streets
bang that car spanked-out speakers
to the rumble of the mass beat

now bass line that big crying baby
till it sounds
low and sweet (voice deep)

shake off all there inhibition
and bring them to the dance floor

now let the bass sound
take you
where you want to be

let the bass line hit you
so you can stomp your feet
(instrumental strong bass)

can you feel that rumble
and you feel the beat
bass line it up
so you don't
step on her feet

My Nintendo

Playing soccer on my small nintendo
I envied great stars like ronaldo
The great pele and romario
"Ronaldo,ronaldo"
The music rises to a cresendo
Right from my small nintendo
I could hear the rhythm of the piano
And my blood ripples at the sound of the concerto
I danced until i'm lost in the solo
Suddenly i was revived by the diminuendo
Of this mystic sound from my nintendo
I checked the terminal to the audio
Oh!,it has been disconnected by antonio
My friend from colorado

Sound Asleep- I Wish

My nagging headache has resurfaced again,
a grumbling stomach as well,
the cold night has given me chattering teeth
and a murmuring heart gives me hell.
My breathing's developed a whistle-like wheeze
and tinnitus with matching tone,
I can't get to sleep with these noises I make-
why can't I just leave me alone?

Picture Imperfect

Smile
I miss you baby
The sound of your voice
The way you say my name
The I love you and you are beautiful
The way you sometimes make fun of my accent
I want to hear your laugher which makes me giggle
The random declarations of past discretions
The fact that you think I am funny
The glimpse of your brilliance
The sound of your voice
I miss you my love

Sound Behind the Door

—The sense of sound—

He was curious, he opened the door,
he heard a scream, then he yelped.

He suddenly banged the door,
someone cawed from behind the door,

it changed to crackle crackle,
then became an incessant echo.

He again opened the door and heard,
the roomful echo changed to murmuring stream,

then turned into rumbling violin. He whined
for annoying sound, then he whooped, then

he yelled, finally he smiled and yodeled
for his curiosity made him aware of

many different sounds there are
in the behind closed door.

Letter L

Little Lucy likes liver
Long legged Lou loves Lucy
Loquacious Lenny laments loudly
Lovely Linda listens little
Listen Linda Listen!
Laborious Leroy lives luxuriously
Lethargic Larry lies levitating
Liberal Lillian languishes longingly
Looking languid, lacking levity
Lexical Lexi, legendary lewd librarian
Loves licentious liaisons
Lecherous Lucas lubricious libertine
Looks lustily like leading lothario
Lugubrious lyric, ludicrous lines
Lacking lucidity, looney lunacy
Lightheaded lexicography!
Lucrative limerick?? Laughable!

They Made Me Sound Crazy To the Neighbors

I died some eggs for Easter to celebrate the season. How was I to know what would happen when, I’d leave them. Upon the counter top they sat, drying for awhile. When I returned, they’d come to life; giggly, jiggly, wiggly cartoons met my eyes. They were having a conversation; talking all at once; Sarcastic egg pointed me out as the one who’d boiled them! Screaming ensued that brought the neighbors; now...silence.

When you laugh, the world

Will laugh with you, and when you

Cry, the world will cry with you.

                    It is safe to say,

When you sleep, and you snore, the

World will let you sleep alone.
